✝ a long lace dress (here's mine)
✝ tape measure
✝ four straight pins
✝ scissors
Total time:
30 mins
Total cost:
$30 for the dress
This is the easiest...
First, put the dress on and mark with pins the length you want in the front, back and on the sides. I measured 12 inches in front and back and 24 inches on the sides (up from the seam). I have to admit the sides are just a tiny bit higher than I wanted, so I advise you to make it a little longer to be on the safe side.
To finish it up, cut along the flowers in the lace.
Feel free to wear something less slutty underneath...or more.
Have a party!!

I saw a dress like this the other day and fell in love. I definitely have to do this now! Thanks for the tutorial :)

hi! i'm thinking of doing this to a lace dress i'm buying for a formal event but i'm just wondering when you cut the lace without hemming, does it fray? just making sure before i hack up my dress and it ends up unravelling or something haha (ideally would like to get a few more wears out of it)
ReplyDeletethanks!
Definitely love the new look!!! :) Sexy too!!
